My graduation project was a short animation film about the ability to create a new reality using imagination. It shows the power of stories, not just as means for entertainment but as a way to amend reality and heal the soul.
A collaboration with Michael Polezhay and Yaara Zemach.
Music by Meitar Gelman. Sound design by Noa Baruch.
The film follows a mischievous young girl who loves scaring her older sister with imaginary stories in their tree house in the woods. When this girl one day encounters horror in reality, the shock is paralyzing her. After realizing what happened, the older sister encourages the young sister to use her imagination again - this time in order to view the difficult experience in a different light, to regain control over the story, and perhaps heal her trauma.
Our process included all steps of production: from brainstorming for an initial concept and script, through art and character design, all the way up to the final edit. We worked together on story and direction, but my main input revolved around storyboarding, cinematography, character animation, and editing.
We also cooperated with a composer and a sound designer who helped us bring our vision to life.
