Part A of a short animation film. A visual response to Mary Brancaccio's ("Arts by the People") poem about losing parts of your family's history and memories as a descendant to immigrants.
Part B by Anastasia Burlakov.
In collaboration with Ma'ayan Barazani and Amit Schreiber.
As our character passes through the scenes, glimpses of memories come to life around it in warm colors, drawing the viewers' eyes, as the frames are otherwise made of sepia monochrome reminiscent of old album photos.
While working on the concept for the film, we were fascinated by the poet's use of the wolf image. Wolves are perceived as wild wanderers, some are loners, and some are part of a pack. Making our main character a wolf (we called her "Wolfess"), increased the feeling of an abandoned and lost place.
