An interactive experience, displaying an analysis of Nazi propaganda posters in the Soviet Union of WWII. The purpose is to better understand how the different layers of design - from motifs and images to color and style - were picked precisely to incite the soviet people against the jews.
A collaboration with Nikol Pashinian.
The International School for Holocaust Studies in Yad VaShem, invited us to cooperate in creating educational materials revolving around this year's topic - the holocaust of jews in Eastern Europe. After studying briefly the many aspects of this issue, we became interested in the unique manipulation methods used by the Nazi propaganda in the Soviet Union, specifically in posters and pamphlets.
As students of graphic design, we believed that unveiling the thinking and techniques used by those Nazi designers, can help the common person realize the subtle effects of propaganda, and how it was targeted meticulously to the soviet people. Perhaps it can raise awareness to such manipulations and thus reduce their effectiveness in potential future recurrences.
